Germana Musco is an Italian author and illustrator based in London.

She studied Children's Book Illustration at Cambridge School of Art (UK). Before turning to illustration, she trained as an architect in Rome and worked across architecture, graphic design, videomaking, and copywriting, exploring the art of storytelling from different perspectives.

She writes and illustrates her own stories, while also creating illustrations for books, magazines, covers, and other commissions. She has a soft spot for dreamy, slightly surreal atmospheres, improbable stories, and characters who are just a little bit odd. Her illustrations are mostly created using analogue painterly techniques and a touch of digital collage.

 

Her debut picture book as an illustrator, My Best Friend Is a Monster, will be published in the UK in 2026 by Kumusha Books/HarperCollins Children’s Books.​
